Taking our responsibilities seriously
We’re committed to making a difference, for now and for the future
As the UK’s largest privately owned and operated timber company, the Howarth Timber Group recognises it has a significant responsibility to ensure its impact on the environment is at all times minimised. From sourcing timber from certifiable forests through to recycling at every stage in the production process, the company carefully monitors its environmental performance, whilst continually seeking new ways in which ever stringent environmental targets can not only be met, but surpassed.
Howarth’s businesses are proud supporters of many sustainability- and environmentally-focused organisations, such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC), Responsible Procurement Programme (RPP) and Chain of Custody (CoC) initiative.
Alongside its support for leading organisations, the Howarth Timber Group also works closely with leading manufacturers to offer one of the most extensive collections of sustainable products available. The Howarth GreenHouse is aimed at increasing awareness of the many benefits environmentally focused products can provide.
Within these initiatives and others, the group is determined to retain its role as a clear industry leader in protecting our environment.
