The Role

We are looking for a number of experts to fill production roles within the primary assembly and finishing areas of our teams, utilising world class and lean tools to maintain hourly and daily targets. The role will include identifying and manufacturing window and entrance frames to customer requirments maintaining quality standards, and multiskilling across all aspects of production within the areas.

The Role
Due to internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen in the Lancashire area with a vacancy for the position of Assistant Branch Manager at our Bury Branch.

Bury is a well-established mixed timber and building materials branch.

The site operates with a staffing level of thirteen and is on target to achieve a sales turnover of around £3 million for 2014/2015, returning a good net profit.

The ideal candidate will have good product knowledge and excellent sales ability, in order to assist the Branch Manager in taking the branch forward and therefore maximising profitability.

1. Loading and unloading delivery vehicles by hand or with a forklift truck or side loader
2. Sorting and grading stock
3. Operating woodworking machinery (full training given)
4. Moving stock to storage areas
5. Picking and packing orders
6. Keeping work areas clean and tidy
7. Answering queries from commercial customers or members of the public
8. Any other duties deemed as reasonable within the scope of the job role

Desirable Skills:

Current Forklift/Sideloader licence
Previous experience of Timber & Building Materials
Warehouse and customer service experience

6. Closing and processing all sales accurately

The Role

To provide clerical, administrative and sales support and to contribute towards the branch achieving its goals, objectives and deadlines.

Core Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Building excellent working relationships with internal and external customers & suppliers.
• Perform both manual and computerised sales and purchases ledger functions including raising orders, booking goods into stock, registering invoices and dealing with queries.
• Supporting the branch manager with payroll, HR and Health & Safety requirements.
• Deal with daily banking and cash reconciliation.
• Managing Petty Cash.
• Supporting the sales team when required.
• Assist with stock control processes.
• To meet company deadlines.

General

• To participate as an effective and willing member of the team.
• To be a ‘team player’ and work towards meeting both personal and team objectives.
• To adhere to all existing Company Policies and Procedures.
• To undertake all training and development required within the role.
• To undertake any tasks other tasks reasonably requested by the branch manager.
