LEEDS DARTS FAN TO TAKE TO THE OCHE AGAINST WORLD CHAMPION!

A Leeds electrician will be taking a break from his usual job next Friday to face up to the oche challenge of a lifetime!

Part of the inaugural World Darts Supremacy being hosted at the 02 Academy in Leeds, Mark Smith from Marshall Street, Crossgates has won the chance to chalk up an impressive total against fifteen times world darts champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor - and win prizes in the process.

Friday’s event, sponsored by Howarth Timber & Building Supplies in association with Lafarge Plasterboard, features Phil Taylor competing against current world champion Adrian 'Jackpot' Lewis in a night of spectacular top-flight darts action.

Mark won the right to compete against Phil Taylor by entering an online competition with Howarth Timber and was staggered to hear he had bagged the top prize. “I was actually wiring a house when the call came through to say I had won, so I didn’t get chance to answer the phone,” he said. “However, an email later in the day asked me to call Howarth Timber and it was then I began to realise I had hit the bullseye!”

Mark will compete against Phil Taylor, and Howarth and Lafarge will match his score with the equivalent cash prize and a similar donation to charity. Alongside this, Mark will have chances to win spot prizes such as an iPod, tools and vouchers. And he’ll then wind down after the darts final at one of Leeds’ prestigious hotels.

Looking forward to the World Darts Supremacy, Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor added, “I love playing Adrian Lewis. He's the World Champion at the moment and deservedly so, but we always bring the best out of each other. I won the last time we played, in the European Championship final, but Friday will be a big night because it's only a couple of weeks before the World Grand Prix so neither of us will want to lose because we might play again in Ireland.”

The World Darts Supremacy takes place this Friday evening, 16th September 2011, at the 02 Academy on Cookridge Street, Leeds.
