HOWARTH CUSTOMERS ARE TOP TRADESMEN!

09/10/2009

(Jonathan Brown of Stokesley Kitchens and Kevin Withers from Howarth Timber & Building Supplies' branch in York).

Howarth Timber & Building Supplies’ customers are certainly making their mark in the Irwin’s Ultimate Challenge – the country-wide competition to find the top tradesman. And with a fabulous array of prizes up for grabs, including a grand prize of a Porsche 911, Howarth’s talented tradesmen are making a name for themselves with some impressive timings.

The Irwin’s Ultimate Challenge is to mark, measure, cut and drill timber, using a variety of Irwin’s tools. Their road show is travelling the length and breadth of the UK, and includes visits to several of Howarth’s branches. Thirty-two regional winners will assemble at Irwin’s stand at this year’s Interbuild exhibition at the NEC (18 -21 October 2009) for the final fight-out and to see who will be crowned with the top tradesman title. The ultimate winner will drive away the Porsche.

At Howarth’s Corby branch, fastest on the day was Shaun Hazelwood of Rutland recorded a time of 50.4 seconds. Wakefield’s badge of honour goes to Lee Whiting of Northallerton with a time of 58.15 seconds. Newcastle-under Lyme’s high achiever was Ivan Lodge who just topped the minute, and in Leeds, congratulations go to Gavin Snee with a time of 53.31 seconds.

However, top honours go to Jonathan Brown of Stokesley Kitchens who, at Howarth Timber & Building Supplies’ York branch, recorded a jaw-dropping time of just 43.4 seconds - the fastest qualifying time this year! He will take his place at Interbuild and so, surely is a contender!

Howarth Timber & Building Supplies wishes Jonathan the very best of luck!
