A local timber and building supplies merchant in Richmond is bucking the downward trend in the construction market by reporting records sales over the past two months.
Howarth Timber & Building Supplies, located on the Gallowfield Trading Estate, has seen sales rise by more than 30% month on month since the seasonal spring resurgence, which manager Phil Cartwright attributes to a number of factors.
“We’ve invested considerably in the branch over the last couple of years, expanding our ranges of timber and heavy side products such as bricks, blocks and cements,” said Mr Cartwright. “Alongside this, we’ve made everything much more accessible by redesigning both our extensive storage shed and our newly resurfaced yard."Now, we’re really pleased that the £130,000 we’ve spent is paying dividends – it underlines our commitment to the region’s property developers, builders and DIY enthusiasts.”
