Apprentices from colleges throughout the North West gathered at The Prince of Wales Hotel, Southport on Friday December 5 2008 for the North West BATJIC Apprentice of the Year 2008 Awards Ceremony. Now in its 17th year, the competition is sponsored jointly by the North West Building and Allied Trades Joint Industrial Council (BATJIC), which is made up of representatives from the Federation of Master Builders (FMB), UNITE (formerly the Transport and General Workers Union) and ConstructionSkills. The competition acknowledges the enthusiasm, support and dedication by the tutors, which ultimately provides the industry with top rate craftsmen and women.
