Howarth Timber & Building Supplies has just launched a high quality reversible deckboard made from thermally treated timber.
Taking the outward appearance of hardwood, Howarth’s Lunardeck has been designed to remain stable and less prone to defects and faults normally associated with moisture movement in softwood timber.
Developed in association with leading worldwide suppliers, Lunardeck is matured in steam temperatures exceeding 200° Celsius over a sustained timeframe. As a result, future movement of the board is restricted and it is less likely to warp, crack and twist.
Lunardeck timber is specifically selected to ensure consistent quality. The thermal treatment offers 100% sectional penetration, thereby removing the risk of attack by insects, as well as rotting at fixing points.
The deckboards have a natural golden brown colour throughout, similar to the most popular hardwood species currently used in the manufacture of decking, and achieved without the use of chemicals. Whilst regular maintenance is still recommended, the total penetration of the treatment helps to increase the durability of the timber and Lunardeck boards have an expected service life of more than 30 years.
Howarth Timber & Building Supplies is part of the Howarth Group, UK’s largest privately owned timber company. Lunardeck is available through its network of 28 branches, which can be located at www.howarth-timber.co.ukCopyright © 2010 Howarth Timber & Building Supplies
