Lunawood

Located in Central Finland, Lunawood Ltd are the world's largest producer of thermally modified Ttmber. Established in 1985, Lunawood is a forerunner in the development of thermally modified timber and is one of the Founder Member's of Finland’s Thermo-wood Association, a leading authority on the thermal treatment of timber.

Using their unique patented thermo – wood processing plant, in a continuous chamber kiln system, Lunawood have established their high quality product throughout the world, and are dominant suppliers in the demanding Finnish domestic market with over 70% of market share.

Finland’s leading house builders and Sauna manufactures are choosing Lunawood. 

Lunawood control the quality from start to finish, with production of Pine and Spruce via their own sawmill using slow grown logs sourced in Finland’s harsh Northern climate. Grading and selection is carried out throughout the process and wood is modified under independent Thermowood Licence and is certified to meet at least the requirements for Durability class 2.

Taking care of the environment, as well as achieving Durabiliy Class 2 without the need for chemical treatment, Lunawood are fully PEFC certified with full chain of custody certification, meaning their logs are sourced from well managed and re-planted forest.
