Secured By Design - Doors
Howarth Windows and Doors offers a range of Secured By Design doorsets that incorporate a shootbolt locking system, an anti break-in device between the jambs and hinges, so ensuring that all single doorsets meet the requirements of Secured By Design.
The Hi Spec range has been tested by Cego Frameware, a UKAS accredited testing station, and independently witnessed by a representative of the British Woodworking Federation (BWF).
Howarth's doors are also recognised under the BWF's Timber door Accreditation Scheme and have achieved BS644 Part 1: 1989 - Specification for factory assembled doors - both of these in addition to SBD requirements. 
Created to offer a safer, more secure environment for residents, SBD is endorsed by the Association of Chief Police Officers and has the backing of the Home Office Crime Prevention Agency. SBD states that doors should be tested to meet BS7950: 1997 - the specification for Enhanced Security Performance of Casement and Tilt/Turn doors for Domestic Appliances.
