A varnish is a hard protective finish or film used mainly for finishing of wood based products such as floors, doors, skirtings and architraves. Available in clear gloss, satin or matt finishes, these can be applied over wood stains as a final step to protection.
Clear Varnish is ideal for when you want to maintain the traditional look of the timber, whilst protecting the timber from scratches and marks. Re-varnishing is an on-going job for most timber surfaces, to ensure that the surface remains in top condition and protected from minor damage.
When to use Clear Varnish:
Clear Varnish is best used on “virgin” timber that has never been painted, stained or treated, such as doors, furniture, skirting boards etc.
