1981 x 610/686 x 35mm - used where there may be limited wall space and a small fitting door is needed.

1981 x 762 x 35mm - often mentioned as a 2' 6" door is the most typical internal door sizing in England and Wales.

Standard Door Sizes

Internal metric sized doors are becoming increasingly common and are widely utilised throughout most of Scotland and the continent. Period homes may include doors of varying sizes. The biggest change is a 2040mm increase in door height and a 40mm increase in door thickness.

2040 x 526/626/726/826/926 x 40mm.

Door Frame Sizes

In England and Wales, the most common door frame width is 762mm. The most typical door frame width in Scotland is 726mm. To accommodate all door sizes, door frames can be provided pre-assembled or in component components that can be trimmed to size.

There is no standard UK door frame size since the size of the frame you require is determined by the size of the aperture. Because door frame fitting is challenging and needs precise accuracy, we always recommend talking with a skilled joiner.

What is a standard garage door size?

Standard garage doors are typically 8 feet wide by 7 feet tall. Large doors are common and available for garages, due to them being intended for house vans, SUVs, boats, RVs, or heavy work trucks. As for double garage doors, they can be twice the size of a single garage door, plus about three feet of space between the vehicles parked in the garage.
