Laura Ashley arrives at Howarth at Home Wakefield

If you go down to Howarth Timber Wakefield today, you’re sure of a big surprise. Of course, you’ll find your typical tools, building materials and plumbing products, but keep exploring and you will come across our brand new Howarth At Home kitchen showroom – our hidden gem that we are extremely proud of.

Officially opened on Friday 4th August 2017, the showroom has had a complete overhaul, with brand new kitchens on display, suitable for areas of all shapes and sizes, and each bursting with innovative space-saving ideas, clever gadgets and beautiful finishing touches to suit every taste. Recently, I was invited to take a tour around the new Howarth kitchen showroom and I wanted to share my experiences with you.

Discover your dream kitchen

Step past the flowers and picket fence at the back of our Wakefield branch and you’ll enter the dedicated Howarth At Home kitchen zone. The showroom is bright and airy, and genuinely feels like home, even down to the comfortable sofa where you can have a friendly chat with our Howarth At Home team about what you’re looking for.

Away from the hubbub of the main store, the showroom is a peaceful place where you are free to wander around at your own pace, enjoying the excitement of discovering what your dream kitchen could be like.

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the stunning French Grey Bedale kitchen from the Laura Ashley Kitchen Collection which is a definite eye-catcher whether you are a lover of Laura Ashley homeware in general, or have a passion for the classic and traditional kitchens of the Great British past.

The next thing to attract my attention was the gorgeous beige marble worktop of the Linear kitchen that sparkled beautifully beneath the spotlights.

Making the most of your kitchen space

All the ranges include drawers and cupboards that are packed with ideas for getting the most out of your kitchen space, including:

  • Pioneering drawers that are more than rectangle boxes, but offer practical solutions creating bread drawers, designated areas for pans or cutlery and smaller drawers for herbs and spices.
  • Pull-out sections in cupboards ensure that all space is fully utilised, even in corners.
  • Appliances such as fridges, dishwashers and even waste bins no longer need to be the eyesore of your kitchen, as they can be easily integrated into the design, hidden behind cupboard doors.

Not only that, there are so many “mod cons” that I got excited about, to bring the future into your home:

  • Steaming Hot Water Taps ensure a cup of tea is in your hands even quicker than before
  • Hide&Slide Neff Ovens allow you to get even closer to your cooking with a smart door that rotates and disappears underneath when opened fully. Perfect for smaller kitchens.
  • The Kitchen Showroom is open to the public, so just walk in and look around. You’ll be able to book an appointment for a free-of-charge and no obligation measuring appointment, where we will measure your kitchen. This is always better than working from plans, because it allows our team to find out exactly what you’re working with.

What to Expect from your Visit:

  • You don’t need to have an account to buy a kitchen from Howarth At Home.
  • Everything will move at your pace. Take your time to find exactly what you are looking for that fits your:
    • Budget
