Top Home Trends for 2020

The start of the new year and new decade has brought more customers into our showrooms looking for ways to revitalise their homes. Here is a handy list of top trends, all of which are affordable and long lasting. Pop in to see us for more inspiration and advice. We’d be delighted to work with you to design your favourite kitchen or bathroom.

This year will see a continuation of the use of bold colours, such as rich forest greens and navy blues to feature throughout the home, making a statement and complimenting lots of different styles from classical to contemporary. Colour can be dramatic, or it can be added in a more subtle way such as a feature wall or the bottom row of kitchen cabinets (with a lighter colour above). Brass and other warm metallic finishing touches, such as door handles, bring elegance and glamour to strong colours.

New build homes and city apartment buildings are ever increasing in popularity. Soft colours such as light timber and stone finishes increase the feel of space and clean living in a modern home. Graphite and urban concrete are going to remain strong trends in 2020 and beyond.

Luxurious kitchens are a worthy investment in your home. Choosing the right kitchen for you and your home can increase the value of your property and last for a good amount of time. Dark, rich colours complimented by metal and dark timber can make the heart of your home both modern and classic at the same time. Choosing a dark paint colour such as a dark green or indigo will compliment your chosen kitchen and can be updated with ease when trends change.

As the world becomes more environmentally aware, we are seeing natural materials such as oak and stone being included in interior designs, complimented by greens and warm colour tones. As interior design moves away from cool tones, we find that earthier tones are taking their place.

Feature Taps

Update your kitchen or bathroom with a new tap – make use of striking finishes such as gold or matte black to bring an added wow factor to your new kitchen or update your current sink area. If you are looking for more convenience from your tap, consider investing in a Quooker tap providing filtered chilled and sparking water alongside boiling, cold and hot water. This clever tap will save you time and space, helping to reduce clutter in your kitchen.
