Timers

Timers

Boiler Timers are a convenient method of controlling when your boiler heats up your home, and when it doesn’t. This helps ensure that you only use the boiler when you really need to, without wasting energy or money.

Timers can be incredibly confusing to figure out, especially if you have never used one before, but once you know, they are an effective tool:

  1. Set the Time. To do this, all you need to do is line up the black arrow with the current time. Just turn the dial, until you reach the time remembering that the timer is 24hrs, therefore 8pm will be 20, not 8.
  2. Set The Boiler. You’ll notice that the time is broken down into 15-minute increments with each time having its own black tab. To set your boiler to come on at specific times of the day, you need to push down the tabs to correlate with those times. If you want the boiler to come on at 7am, and turn off again at 9am you would push down every tab between 7 and 9.
  3. Turn the Boiler on. It seems obvious, but this is a step so many of us forget.

Tip: It takes roughly 30 minutes to heat a typical room and another 30 minutes to cool it down, so keep this is mind. For example:

  • Setting 30 minutes before you get out of bed / get home from work
  • Setting to turn off 30 minutes before you leave the house / go to bed.
