Which Species for Cladding?
If you are looking for cladding that is durable, Cedar is the best choice, however Larch offers moderate durability, whilst Redwood can offer moderate durability once a finish has been applied.
Redwood is suitable for several types of profile, including; Offset, Shiplap and Tongue & Groove, whilst Larch and Cedar are both suitable for Offset and Shiplap profiles.
One of the main challenges that cladding has to face is the elements, which can have a big impact on the condition of the wood. In order to prevent the timber for natural discolouration and other effects of the weather, we recommend applying a product that contain protection against UV stain, paint or oil-based finish.
What is meant by “Traditional” Cladding?
Traditional Cladding means that the timber used does not have any special properties that make it thermal and it has not been treated to make it resistant against fire or have any kind of decorative finish.
