Ladders are typically used at a vertical incline and are rigid to ensure safety. Their purpose is to allow you to easily reach high places such as loft access points, higher than ground level windows, roofs, tall trees etc., whilst ensuring that you remain safe at all times.
Ladders with lower heights tend to have an a-frame and can stand by themselves without the need for support. Commonly used around the home, they are suitable for most household applications including painting and decorating projects, reaching high up cupboards and shelving and changing light bulbs.
Taller ladders tend to fold or slide into itself for easier transportation and storage, whilst roof ladders have hooks that secure them into place. They are ideal for window cleaners, roofers, builders etc.
Whilst most ladders are movable, some – for as loft access ladders – tend to be fixed into place, with the ability to fold them away into your loft.
