C16 and C24 are strength grades; the higher the grade, the better the load bearing quality it has. C16 is normally the grade that is produced from faster grown UK timber. C24 is a premium product as the wood is slower grown and is also denser. Higher loads and longer spans can be achieved with the use of C24 grade timber often with a smaller cross section.
It is machined to have rounded edges, smooth faces, and sides, for a more uniform piece of timber. It is kiln dried to minimise moisture content and improve strength and stability. The finished size you will receive is 45mm x 70mm.
As this product is only 45x50mm it's main usage will be for vertical non-load bearing stud positions. For larger load bearing applications choose a large thickness of C16 or C24.
Regularised timber has gone through a machine which rounds the edges and smooths the faces and sides of the piece. This operation uniforms the finished size which will usually be 5mm less than stated on both the face and width. Carcassing is a generic trade term which refers to the use of a species of timber. Spruce/Pine and Fir are used to form floors, walls, ceilings and roofs of properties for example.
Please note: Timber and stone are natural materials, and as such, variation in colour, texture, and natural markings is to be expected. We strive torepresent our products as accurately as possible through imagery; however, colours and shades may appear differently depending on individual monitor settings such as brightness, temperature, and contrast. These variations are not considered defects.
