Frequently Asked Questions

I need help installing wall panelling?
Panelling a wall can be easily done by yourself at home. If you would like to read about how you can panel a wall, please read our how-to guide in the how-to section above.
Can you use DIY Wall Panels in a bathroom or a damp environment?
At Howarth, we use the highest grade Cheshire Mouldings wall panelling available, and is regarded to be some of the finest MDF on the market. Because of this, you can rest assured that your DIY Wall Panels will be safe to use in bathrooms, washrooms, or any place where there might be a damp environment. However, we would not advise placing the wall panels in a place where the panels would be in a constant stream of water, for example, in a shower cubicle.
How do I deal with Wall Sockets with my run of DIY Wall Panels?
Most of the time, when utilising DIY Wall Panels without backboards, the plugs are already situated in the open areas of the panels, but this is not always true. We always recommend that you decide where your panels will go before beginning your project; as minor changes with a single panel prior to beginning a project may save you a lot of trouble later on!
How far up the wall should panelling go?
Measure across the bottom, just above your skirting board, and then measure up the wall to where you want the top panel to be. You can make your panelling any height you want, but we do reccomend to go about two-thirds of the way up.
How long does wall panelling last?
As they are a long-lasting and durable product, bathroom wall panels make for a really cost effective solution with guarantees of up to 30 years on some products. In all cases, you can expect these panels to last around 10 years or more.
