About this product...
A premium batten, fully graded to meet all aspects of BS5534:2003+A1:2010, eliminating the need for grading on site. Approved for New Builds & Replacement Roof projects.
These roof battens or tile battens are neither C16 nor C24 graded, it can only be used for non‑load‑bearing applications. This makes it ideal for general‑purpose uses such as shelving, boxing‑in, panelling, planters, compost bins, small tool stores, DIY joinery, and craft or hobby projects. Ungraded timber is also commonly used for lighter‑duty tasks, including non‑load‑bearing floor joists, beams, rafters, ceiling joists and wall studding. However, it is graded to BS5534:2003+A1:2010 meaning there is no need for grading on site.
The UC2 treatment further ensures suitability for indoor applications where damp conditions might be present, making it a versatile and practical choice for builders and DIY enthusiasts alike.
All our timber has full chain of custody, meaning our timber is sourced responsibly. It is kiln dried to minimise moisture content and improve strength and stability. This timber is sourced and produced in the British Isles, reducing the carbon footprint of timber products compared to imported products.
Please note: Timber and stone are natural materials, and as such, variation in colour, texture, and natural markings is to be expected. We strive to represent our products as accurately as possible through imagery; however, colours and shades may appear differently depending on individual monitor settings such as brightness, temperature, and contrast. These variations are not considered defects.
