Softwood timber Firring or also known as tapers are strips of timber (or a batten) that has been cut at an angle along its length diagonally so that it tapers, with one edge being deeper than the other. An ideal solution for flat roofs as it will allow you to create a slope or fall in your flat roof to help rainwater off, preventing pooling or flooding and protecting the integrity of your roof.
