Western Red Cedar is a premium timber product that is perfect for multiple applications including screening, slatted fencing, contemporary fencing and cladding external buildings. Western Red Cedar is one of the lightest softwoods.

Western cedar at the lower density enhances its insulation value and makes it an easy wood to handle. Cedar has a very low shrinkage factor and is superior to all other coniferous woods in its resistance to warping, twisting, and checking. With its straight grain and uniform texture, Western Red Cedar is among the easiest and most rewarding woods to work with.

Western Red Cedar can be considered equivalent to UC3u for above‑ground external use as long as the material is heartwood only. Meaning it is suitable for outdoor above ground use, making it ideal for cladding, fencing, exterior joinery not in ground.

Our planed square edge timber is machined, to make it ideal for internal joinery that requires a smooth, neat edge. The superior finish and it’s great use versatility make it perfect for a range of uses where the finished appearance is important, such as furniture building.
