GRP, also known as Fibreglass roofing, is one of the most reliable and cost-effective roofing options on the market right now. Because of its waterproof material, and it’s no maintenance requirements, it makes it a perfect choice for your home. The hard-wearing nature of GRP will last for over 30 years, making it a dependable roofing option as well.
What is GRP roofing?
GRP roofing is a material made from polyester resin, which is reinforced by mat glass fibres to form a GRP laminate. Because of this, it is a durable, lightweight, and flexible material capable of being moulded to any shape. This is one of the main reasons why Fibreglass is becoming the number one choice for flat roofing.
It can also be known as GRP fibreglass roofing, and is a material made from polyester resin which is reinforced by chopped strand mat glass fibres, forming a GRP laminate.
A GRP roof is typically very easy to install, but we also offer fibreglass roofing kits if needed which will provide you with all the materials you require to construct an incredibly strong and durable flat roof. One of the most well-known roofing resins is Cure It roofing, which has a specially formulated roofing resin and topcoat.
How does it work?
GRP flat roofing systems combine several materials such as topseal resin, fibreglass matting, and durable topcoat to not only create a roof that’s impact resistant and strong, but also attractive and aesthetically pleasing. It first starts with bare ceiling joists and the attachment of OSB3 decking and is then specially fitted with GRP roofing trims to the edges, to form a durable laminate GRP flat roof.
Because of how little heat is used during the installation of fibreglass roofing, it also makes it one of the safest installation processes.
