C16 graded carcassing is a structural timber commonly used for stud walls, roof and floor joists, and structural joinery. C16 is normally the grade that is produced from faster grown UK timber. However, this C16 timber is imported into the UK and therefore comes from is slow grown wood.
Our 8x2 C16 timber is machined to have rounded edges, smooth faces, and sides, for a more uniform piece of timber. It is kiln dried to minimise moisture content and improve strength and stability.
Carcassing is a generic trade term which refers to the use of a species of timber. Spruce/Pine and Fir are used to form floors, walls, ceilings and roofs of properties for example.
Please note: Timber and stone are natural materials, and as such, variation in colour, texture, and natural markings is to be expected. We strive to represent our products as accurately as possible through imagery; however, colours and shades may appear differently depending on individual monitor settings such as brightness, temperature, and contrast. These variations are not considered defects.
