About this product...
Latvian Birch Plywood is manufactured from birch veneers throughout, harvested from responsibly sourced forests, normally bonded together with a phenol formaldehyde adhesive, which has superior resistance to loss of bond strength with time. Birch is a fine textured, strong, dense timber which is excellent for engineering applications where precision, stability, flatness and strength are primary considerations.
The BB grade faces are solid, finely sanded and ideal for a paint finish.
It is not tested for strength and consequently not suitable for structural use in buildings. This is designated by the term CE4 in the description.
Plywood is several panels comprising of at least 3 layers of veneered wood called plies which are bonded together with adhesives. With each ply produced at right angles to the adjacent layer to improve strength and reduce the possibilities of shrinkage along with making it more structurally stable. The outer layers of ply are referred to as face & back are graded based on quality of the face and reverse, the layer in between face & back is more commonly know as the core.
All our timber has full chain of custody, meaning our timber is sourced responsibly. With responsible sourcing at the heart of what we do, you can trust that our timber meets strict sustainability standards giving you confidence in both the quality of your materials and the environmental impact of your choice.
Please note: Timber and stone are natural materials, and as such, variation in colour, texture, and natural markings is to be expected. We strive to represent our products as accurately as possible through imagery; however, colours and shades may appear differently depending on individual monitor settings such as brightness, temperature, and contrast. These variations are not considered defects.
