This timber is classed as carcassing, and whilst it is neither C16 nor C24 graded, and therefore it can only be used for non‑load‑bearing applications, it does mean is has more versatile uses than just fencing boards. This makes it ideal for general‑purpose uses such as shelving, boxing‑in, panelling, planters, compost bins, small tool stores, DIY joinery, and craft or hobby projects. Ungraded timber is also commonly used for lighter‑duty tasks, including non‑load‑bearing floor joists, beams, rafters, ceiling joists and wall studding.
