When it comes to choosing an adhesive, over 80% of tradespeople want instant hold, no pinning and no slippage. EVO-STIK GRIPFILL XTRA is a new high strength, instant grip adhesive that will stick to almost all building surfaces with no need for pinning. With all the qualities of the trusted GRIPFILL, XTRA has been specially formulated to prevent slippage, with a bond that grows stronger over time. It can be used indoors and outdoors (providing that the bond is covered), with excellent gap filling properties that accommodate uneven surfaces, and is resistant to both water and temperatures of up to 70°C. Will bond most porous and nonporous building surfaces including: decorative wall panels, timber battens, skirtings and dado rails, carpet gripper strips and stair nosings. Suitable substrates for the above include wood, hardboard, plywood, ceramics, concrete, metal, GRP and plasterboard. For heavy objects a double stick method should be used. Porous surfaces such as plaster and fibre cement board should first be primed with Bostik PVA (diluted 1:5 with clean water) and allowed to dry thoroughly before EVO-STIK GRIPFILL XTRA is applied. Where EVO-STIK GRIPFILL XTRA is used externally, the adhesive must be protected from driving rain, ponding water or permanently wet situations Uncured adhesive may be removed using cloths lightly moistened with white spirit, after carefully scraping off the bulk. Cured adhesive can only be mechanically removed i.e. cutting, sanding, scraping. EVO-STIK GRIPFILL XTRA is not recommended for bonding mirrors, as it may cause an adverse reaction on the mirror backing. Do not use EVO-STIK GRIPFILL XTRA in contact with bitumen. It is not suitable for use on solvent sensitive surfaces such as expanded polystyrene, and cellulose paint, etc. EVO-STIK GRIPFILL XTRA may not be suitable for certain types of structural work. EVO-STIK GRIPFILL XTRA will not bond Polythene, Polypropylene, Polyethylene plastics, Teflon (PTFE) or silicone rubber.
