Celotex Insulation - Saint Gobain

Celotex, a Saint Gobain brand, was founded in the early 1920s as a fibreboard insulation enterprise and helped popularise the use of fibreboard and plasterboard as viable construction materials.

Throughout the twentieth century, Celotex Insulation extended its product line to include a wide range of building products such as roofing shingles, siding and Celotex boards.

As a result, asbestos was added to numerous Celotex items, which are made of a heat-resistant substance, in order to make the products fireproof. Our wide range of products come in a range of sizes, ranging from 100mm celotex to 150mm celotex.

Frequently Asked Questions

How thick should Celotex be?
Celotex is available in thicknesses ranging from 25mm to 65mm (insulation alone) and may be used in roof and interior wall lining applications. Celotex XR4000 is a polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board with outstanding thermal performance and a low emissivity foil face that is simple to install.
Is Celotex good for roof insulation?
Celotex provides a range of high-performance insulation solutions for pitched roof applications.
Can you use Celotex between ceiling joists?
Celotex is much easier to cut and clean up than rockwool. By filling in between the joists, it allows you to board over them and use the area for storage. If you opt to keep the existing materials, you may also install Celotex on top of the joists
Does Celotex need an expansion gap?
The chipboard should be bonded with sufficient adhesive and provide a space of roughly 10 to 12mm to allow for expansion.
What is the R value of 75mm Celotex?
Thickness: 75mm. rValue: 3.40m2K/W. Weight: 2.34kg/m2.
What is Celotex?
Celotex is a brand of PIR (polyisocyanurate) insulation board commonly used in construction for thermal insulation in walls, floors, and roofs. Known for its high thermal efficiency, Celotex boards have a low thermal conductivity, helping to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency in buildings. They are lightweight, easy to install, and available in various thicknesses to suit different insulation requirements. Celotex insulation is widely used in both residential and commercial projects to meet modern building regulations and improve sustainability.
How to cut Celotex?
To cut Celotex, measure and mark your cut line, then use a fine-toothed saw or a sharp utility knife (for thinner boards). Secure the board on a stable surface, cut carefully, and smooth the edges if needed. Wear gloves, a dust mask, and goggles for safety.
