The American Black walnut floor ranges from a deep, rich dark brown to a purplish black and the sapwood is nearly white to tan. The contrast between the heartwood and the sapwood colour makes it perfect for any home. The grain is mostly straight and open but some boards have a burled or curly grain. The grading on this floor is B/C/D which means there are black repaired knots and small repaired splits.
