Frequently Asked Questions

Which side of the board do I plaster?
The blank side (without printing) is the side that faces into the room and is suitable for plastering.
What U-value do Siniat boards have?
In the context of drywall systems, a U-value is a measure of thermal performance over a whole wall, roof, or floor element. Individual goods produce different degrees of heat resistance (R), which when added together yield an overall U-value. The R value of a material is used to compare its thermal performance.
What fire resistance do Siniat boards have?
Fire resistance is determined from the ‘system’ being constructed. As an example, consider a divider, lining, or ceiling. When evaluating fire resistance, the supporting framework, as well as insulation, fixings, and tracks, must all be taken into account. Plasterboard cannot be assessed in all situations, regardless of application.
How can you hang or fix things to plasterboard walls?
A number of fixings are available for use with plasterboard. While they are not made by us, they may significantly boost the pull-out resistance of the fastening, giving you more confidence while hanging shelves, portraits, and other fixtures.
Can I dot & dab Siniat thermal boards?
Direct Bond lining technologies are appropriate for the majority of level, masonry substrates. The substrate must be clean, dust-free, and devoid of any loose debris. Prior to bonding with a PVAC agent, high suction rate substrates should be treated. Moisture-prone walls, such as solid masonry exterior walls, may only be bonded to once they have been properly treated.
