The Q-mark structural plywood scheme is a third party product certification scheme operated by BM Trada Certification Ltd. The scheme covers factory production control, documentation and test assessment evidence. The resultant certification is specific to clearly defined products and their constituent components. One of the main objectives of the scheme is to provide specifiers, regulators, and inspection authorities with the appropriate information to the able to identify suitable products for the structural use.
Plywood is several panels comprising of at least 3 layers of veneered wood called plies which are bonded together with adhesives. With each ply produced at right angles to the adjacent layer to improve strength and reduce the possibilities of shrinkage along with making it more structurally stable. The outer layers of ply are referred to as face & back are graded based on quality of the face and reverse, the layer in between face & back is more commonly know as the core.
The durability technical class of the plywood board is EN636-2 or Class 2. This means the Plywood is for use in humid conditions. (EN636-2) Plywood to be used in conditions characterised by a moisture content in the matiral corresponding to a temperature of 20'C and relative humidity of the surrounding air only exceeding 85% for a few weeks per year. These conditions correspond with service class 2 according to ENV 1995-1-1.
This plywood is certified EN314-2: 1993 bonding Class 2 for Humid conditions. This bonding class is appropriate for protected external applications (e.g. behind cladding or under roof coverings), but is capable of resisting weather exposure for short periods (e.g. when exposed during construction). It is also suitable for interior situations where the service moisture condition is raised above the class 1 level.
Manufactured from hardwood, it is extremely strong, perfect for constructing furniture, panelling, doors, and much more. This plywood sheet is available in a range of sizes, including 18mm and 12mm.
