Q-Ply or Q-Mark plywood is designed to give you peace of mind when specifying plywood for walls, roofing, and flooring applications. The Q-Mark structural plywood scheme is a third party product certifications scheme operated by BM Trada certification Ltd. The scheme covers factory production control, documentation and test assesment evidence. The resultant certifications is specific to clearly defined products and their constituent components. One of the main objectives of the scheme is to provide specifiers, regulator and inspection authorities with the appropriate information to be able to identify suitable products for structureal use. Q-Ply meets the requirements of EN636-3S and EN314-2 Class 3.
Plywood is several panels comprising of at least 3 layers of veneered wood called plies which are bonded together with adhesives. With each ply produced at right angles to the adjacent layer to improve strength and reduce the possibilities of shrinkage along with making it more structurally stable. The outer layers of ply are referred to as face & back are graded based on quality of the face and reverse, the layer in between face & back is more commonly know as the core.
This plywood is certified EN314-2: 1993 bonding Class 3 for external conditions. This bonding class is designed for exposure to weather over sustained periods. Meaning it offers weather resistance during construction phase. Therefore, intended for walls, floors, and roof structural applications.
The durability technical class of the plywood board is EN636-3 or Class 3. This means the Plywood is for use in exterior conditions. Plywood to be used in climatic conditions leading to higher moisture content that service class 2. These conditions correspond with service class 3 according to ENV 1995-1-1. This plywood is capable of withstanding exposure to weathering conditions and liquid water, or water vapour in damp but ventilated locations. Therefore, intended for walls, floors, and roof structural applications.
